Monoprint & Monotype Weekend Printmaking Workshop
Discover the dynamic world of monoprint and monotype in this hands-on weekend printmaking workshop. These two techniques share tools and materials but offer distinct creative approaches—making them perfect to explore side by side.
Monoprinting involves repeatable elements like stencils, textured materials, or natural objects. This allows artists to create a series of prints with shared features but varied compositions. Monotype, in contrast, is all about one-of-a-kind images—ink is applied directly to a plate, and each impression is unique and unrepeatable.
In this workshop, you’ll experiment with both processes using a wide range of found and recycled materials—leaves, string, fabric, bubble wrap, and more—to add layers of texture, shape, and depth. These accessible, playful methods invite spontaneity and reward experimentation.
Whether you’re just beginning or already have a creative practice, this workshop offers a welcoming space to explore printmaking, expand your techniques, and make expressive, personal work. You’ll leave with a vibrant collection of prints and a deeper understanding of monoprint and monotype methods.
All materials are included, and no prior experience is necessary. This workshop is ideal for anyone interested in handmade prints, experimental processes, or sustainable art-making using everyday materials.
