This is a hybrid Linocut & Drypoint printmaking course in which you will learn the basics of relief and intaglio printing.
In this course we use Tetra Pak packaging and PET-G as plates for drypoint printmaking, offering a cost-effective approach. Tetra Pak, a repurposed object, and PET-G have smooth surfaces for easy incising. Through these materials, you can create detailed, textured prints.
Linocut and Tetrapak drypoint both offer unique and ample ways to explore printmaking, and together they create a powerful combination. Linocut allows you to break your block into puzzle-like pieces or build layered designs, and the reduction technique adds depth and richness using a single block. While also offering the puzzle like quality, Tetrapak drypoint complements Linocut technique with delicate lines, textured details, and atmospheric effects. By combining these methods, you can achieve a balance between structure and spontaneity, pushing the boundaries of composition and texture in your prints.
